Doug Flory

Doug first began racing in 1981 when he hired a Brisca F1 car from Frankie Wainman (212). He raced at the now closed White City Stadium in Manchester in August of that year but never completed a race as the clutch blew up. So Frankie gave him another opportunity and in September 1981 he raced at his local track, Rochdale where he raced in heat, consolation and Grand National. After that, due to funding, he was back to watching and in 1987, after a move to Norwich, even that ended.

In 2004 Doug went to Kings Lynn to see a friend from his Brisca days. The cars were different now and it was more expensive than ever. In 2005 Doug took his son Craig to see the racing and asked him if he would like to have a go racing converted mini's known as Ministox. Not surprisingly he did (see below).

In March 2007 Doug saw a Brisca F2 car advertised for sale and bought it and will continue his career nearly 26 years since his last race. During 2007 Doug raced at 13 meetings. Items replaced included 4 radiators, 2 front bumpers, 3 shocks and loads of metal and wheels.

Craig Flory

Craig's racing career began in March 2006 as number 499. His debut was at Kings Lynn where he finished a commendable 7th in his first race. He also raced at Skegness and Sheffield at which track his car was badly damaged in a shunt. It was some months before it was fit to race again. Also due to other circumstances he did not race again until October. In 2007 Craig raced at several meetings and came 3rd at Kings Lynn in June getting his only trophy. Turning 16 in August 2007 Craig retired from Ministox but is hoping to move into F2's so he can do battle with his Dad or possibly race Bangers.

Giselle Flory

Giselle's career began in May 2006 after watching her brother race. Dan Garner's (170) car was acquired and, as number 92, made her debut at Coventry gaining a 10th place in one race. She raced at several tracks including Northampton and Buxton. It was at Buxton in June 2006 that she was pushed into the fence by a faster car . She was trying to get out of the way of the advancing pack, although as she was still a novice she shouldn't have been hit. This bent the main rails through 30 degrees which necessitated a near complete rebuild. Like her brother, she was not able to race again until October but due to a lack of confidence she did not race again until November. Unfortunately her confidence did not return and she decided at the start of the 2007 season to retire.
